July 14 - the eve of departure
The Tour Arctic starts tomorrow (Tuesday 15 July) when we all meet at the UBC Campus in Vancouver. Wednesday morning we set off from there to Horseshoe Bay to catch the ferry to Vancouver Island, then cycle north to Port Hardy, a ferry to Prince Rupert, another ferry to Skagway, then bike to Whitehorse, Dawson City, and the Dempster Highway to Inuvik, arriving there a month from now... nothin' to it.

Preparation includes a warm-up ride on one of the Squamish valley roads...
